In newly released information, the Thai Shippers’ Council export exports to increase as much as 1% this year and at a figure of 12% year-on-year.
Lower global demand has slowed, which has impacted exports, but the weak baht is providing support, according to the Thai Shippers’ Council.
The strongest export markets for 2023 have been the United States and Europe. Exports to China are improving, but at a gradual pace.
Exports, which are key driver of Thai growth could show a contraction of as much as 5 to 6 percent during the first half when compared to the same period as last year. However, exports are expected to pick up in the second half of the year.
